Hi everyone, I'm Heather Carney with the National Student Clearinghouse. I'm here to share a few important updates for the 2026 FVT/GE reporting cycle. Reporting year 2026 is the final reporting year under the FVT/GE framework before the full STATS reporting framework takes effect in 2027. As institutions prepare for that transition, the Clearinghouse will continue to support accountability reporting through our reporting solution. This year's updates are designed to help institutions prepare for what's ahead while maintaining the same overall reporting process. When your institution accesses the reporting year 2026 on the FVT/GE dashboard, you will see a confirmation pop-up. This pop-up asks your institution to confirm whether the Clearinghouse should continue serving as your third-party servicer for accountability reporting as we transition from FVT/GE to STATS. The selection must be made by someone at your institution assigned the financial aid officer role. If your institution selects yes, you can continue using the Clearinghouse solution for accountability reporting. If your institution selects no, please follow the instructions provided on the prompt and contact us so we can assist with next steps. There's also important update to the 2026 student level report. Federal student aid has made several student level report fields optional for the 2026 reporting cycle. Your institution may provide valid data for those fields or choose to leave one or more of those optional fields blank. It's important to keep the student level report file layout intact. The columns remain part of the file layout. For reporting year 2026, the change is simply that those specific optional fields may be left blank. If you choose not to provide the optional fields, you may see additional warnings indicating that a blank value was submitted. These warnings are informational only and simply require acknowledgement. Other than this change, the FVT/GE reporting process remains the same. Institutions will continue to complete the student level report, the program level report, and address any NSLDS errors received during the reporting process. There are no changes made to the program level report for reporting your 2026. The reporting deadline is October 1st, 2026. So, we encourage you to start early, review our updated FVT/GE resources, and allow time to work through any warnings, corrections, or NSLDS errors reports before the deadline.
