The purpose of this tutorial is to demonstrate how to add a new school user on the secure site. Open your account page. In the account tools menu on the right, select manage users. After reviewing and accepting the user administrator terms, you'll be directed to the list of all school users and contacts at your institution. Here, you can either view or manage an existing users's access or you can add a new user. To add a new user, select create new user at the bottom right. Here, you'll enter the new user's name and contact information. Once you're done, select submit. You'll see a message when the record has been saved. Click okay to continue and assign the new user roles and permissions. Here you can select what your new user can query. A user can either make standard student or school queries, meaning the user can view student enrollment and notification histories, transmission schedule and SSCR processing history or query financial aid or Perkins loan admissions or institutional research. Selecting the link shown here opens a text box stating what the query permissions allow. Most of these pertain to StudentTracker access. You can assign specific roles to the new user in the section below. Each role has a specific purpose. Some may be limited to a specific job title or number of users. Simply hover your mouse over a role name to see its description. Roles displayed in italics require the user to have access to the Clearinghouse secure site. You must assign a web ID in order to give the user web access. The web ID is limited to nine characters. If the user name you've chosen is already in use, you'll see this error message username already exists please choose another. Once you are done, select submit at the bottom of the page. You'll get confirmation that your record has been saved successfully. Your new user is now active. If you assigned web access, the user will receive a web ID and a temporary password by email.
