By John Ramsey

Because October marks National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the National Student Clearinghouse, EDUCAUSE and The Research and Education Networking Information Sharing and Analysis Center (REN-ISAC) will jointly release on Monday, October 1, a white paper to encourage higher education’s registrars, enrollment managers and IT staff to build upon their day-to-day dialog on cybersecurity and vulnerabilities.
All of us in higher education have a vested interest in knowing cybersecurity best practices and being empowered to effectively navigate today’s myriad of cybersecurity challenges. To help all institutions, it is very clear that registrars and enrollment managers must be included as critical players in any institution’s cybersecurity team and decision-making conversations.
Taking steps to understand your institution’s current security capabilities and securing endpoints are excellent steps. Watch for our white paper on October 1 to help elevate cybersecurity on your campus’s leadership agenda.
