Every Student Succeeds Act Requires New Responsibilities for High Schools and District Administrators
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which intends to improve student outcomes for all students, requires new responsibilities for high schools and districts throughout the nation.
As Education Week reports, ESSA requires states to provide “easily accessible and user-friendly” data for families and policymakers. The Council of Chief State School Officers predicts the report card will require more than 2,100 data points about public schools. Education Week also provides a video and key elements about the law.
The National Student Clearinghouse − through our unique partnerships with institutions enrolling more than 98 percent of postsecondary students nationwide − can provide postsecondary data to meet ESSA reporting requirements.
The Clearinghouse’s StudentTracker® for High Schools’ service is a unique offering designed to help high school districts more accurately gauge the college success of their graduates. The service not only effectively and seamlessly provides postsecondary enrollment and completion outcomes for public in-state institutions, but also helps administrators obtain information needed for hard to reach private and out-of-state institutions.
