Holidays or Weather Delays? The Clearinghouse Helps Your Office Stay Ahead!

Serving Schools and Students Nationwide During Winter Storm Jonas

Holiday closures and weather delays create limitations, but also appreciation. Who doesn’t appreciate a few extra days to spend time with family? At the same time, poor weather conditions can interrupt the flow of services people expect day-to-day and lead to frustration. At the National Student Clearinghouse, we’re committed to helping schools continue to provide day-to-day services during holidays and unexpected weather delays and closures.

For instance, we know January is a peak season for many schools handling a variety of activities for the start of a new term. When winter snowstorm Jonas unexpectedly shut down or delayed schools in the Midwest and along the East Coast this year, we not only kept services running for them, but also continued to provide services to all of our schools nationwide. Our team of professionals located across the country were available for our clients, providing support in a variety of functions, from implementation to ongoing service support. Though the snow piled up on our doorsteps, Clearinghouse customer support teams assisted school staff and students during and after the storm.

The Clearinghouse completed more than 363,000 verification requests and 64,000 transcript orders between December 21 and January 3, allowing participating schools to provide 24/7 service while their offices were closed for the holidays.

Here are just a few of the ways we helped you serve your students between December 21, 2015, and January 3, 2016:

  • Completed 363,160 verification requests, including degree, enrollment, and those received via Student Self-Service
  • Completed 64,826 transcript orders, including delivering 18,515 secure electronic transcripts

Through recent holiday closures and weather delays, we allowed many in the higher education community to continue to provide and obtain the day-to-day services they are used to receiving without compromising their time with family during the holidays, or safety during inclement weather. The Clearinghouse is proud of our staff’s commitment to being a trusted provider of back-office support services to the higher education community.
