According to Elizabeth Edwards, President of SACCR, who presented the award, “In this age of heightened transparency and accountability, many of us would be hopelessly lost in the pressures of compliance reporting requirements without the necessary assistance of the Clearinghouse as a trusted partner and an independent third-party provider. Their company’s services fill the void when it comes to accurate transfer and student outcomes reporting. But I must compliment the Research Center for further stepping up through its national studies to guide the way on six-year outcomes reporting, the SAM and VFA initiatives, and other efforts that paint a generally positive picture for many of the two-year institutions.”

“The benchmarking capabilities with state and national comparisons help immeasurably. With accreditation and other federal pressures, we are all struggling to defend our missions and prove our value. The ability to provide accurate transfer student outcomes and receive credit for our contributions to degree completion, regardless whether the students finished at our institution or somewhere else, has only been realized though the important efforts of the Research Center through its Signature and Snapshot reports and other national studies.”

SACCR covers 11 states, from Texas in the Southwest to Kentucky and Virginia in the East. The organization provides a network for its members to express themselves on matters of current and mutual concern and to advise other groups on matters related to research and planning in community-based, postsecondary institutions.
