Introducing the Postsecondary Data Partnership’s New Benchmarking Dashboards
Something new and very exciting has been added to the Postsecondary Data Partnership (PDP): benchmarking dashboards!
Our new benchmarking dashboards enable participating PDP institutions to compare their outcomes against those of a group of similar institutions. Peer groups are based on:
- 2-year public by state
- 4-year public/private by state
- Carnegie Classification
- HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities)
- HSI (Hispanic-Serving Institutions)
Through benchmarking data, PDP institutions can develop the insight needed to:
- Identify and address areas for improvement
- Raise questions about the effectiveness of their current processes and practices
- Craft action plans to close key performance gaps
“Improving performance through collaboration or comparison with other universities is nothing new in higher education,” said Vandhana Ralhan, PDP Product Manager, “What is new is the increasing interest in formalizing such comparisons and the beta release of the PDP’s new benchmarking feature is a very useful tool in that regard. With this new functionality, PDP users can identify gaps within their institutions, strive for continuous improvement, and raise standards in education by establishing best practices.”
Available Benchmarking Data
The first release of benchmarking functionality within PDP includes the following key performance indicators (KPIs):
- CAR (Credit Accumulation Rate)
- CCR (Credit Completion Ratio)
- Outcomes
- R/P (Retention/Persistence)
Benchmarking Beta Available Now to PDP Participants
The beta release of the new benchmarking functionality is now available to PDP institutions within Tableau. If you already participate in PDP, you can log on today to start test driving benchmarking with your peers. You’ll also have the opportunity to provide your assessment of PDP’s new benchmarking dashboards via surveys and virtual feedback sessions. We look forward to getting your input on how we can make our new benchmarking feature even better.
If your institution hasn’t joined PDP yet, learn more now.
Credit Accumulation Rate (CAR) is just one of the key performance indicators available in PDP’s new benchmarking functionality.
“With this new functionality, PDP users can identify gaps within their institutions, strive for continuous improvement, and raise standards in education by establishing best practices.”
